Recycling and Waste Collection

Please leave outside very early on collection days (normally Fridays) the following:

  • Black box: recycle bottles, tins, cartons, some plastics
  • Blue box: recycle paper, cardboard, tetra paks etc.
  • *Green food bin:  collect organic food waste– please ensure lid is closed
  • Rubbish bag: This is for the rest of your refuse and should be left in your outside cupboard – the refuse collectors will collect these bags – please do not leave them in the street since they can be ripped open by foxes and cats.

Please do not leave your recycling boxes and wheelies on display – that’s what the outside cupboard and garages are for!

Notes *
A bio-degradable bag for the food bin and also for garden refuse can be obtained from Richmond Council or from the library. Garden waste is collected every other week – check the Richmond Council website for the collection dates.

Please note no camping is allowed on common grounds.

Pedestrian Gate Key

The pedestrian gate opposite Loch Fyne now has a key code access pad. Should you require a key for the pedestrian gate please speak to Clare Marsden at no 91 who will be pleased to provide you with one at a nominal charge of £7.00 per key.  Please do not retain the key if you move away from the estate or give a copy to a non-resident. We have problems with non residents parking on the estate and trespassing by using the Loch Fyne gate to walk their children to the Mall and /or St James’.

Rubbish Dumping

Please do not leave refuse and building debris along any of the communal pathways – it’s really important to keep these pathways clear. Please advise if you notice any graffiti and we will inform the council who generally remove it very quickly.

Inconsiderate Parking

Please use your garages and driveways to park your cars. If you or your visitors block pavements then you could receive a fine from the council – this is not a private road. Remember that Emergency vehicles must be able to circulate  – leave enough space in the road – think before you or your visitors walk away from parking your car and make life safer and easier for everyone in Fortescue park.

Also please ensure your neighbours can enter and depart their driveways with as much ease as possible

Dog Mess

We would remind all dog owners of the need to remove all traces of dog fouling around the estate and in the gardens. Please remember that there are children playing and gardeners working around these areas all the time and it is both unpleasant and a health hazard to allow your dogs to foul in public areas. Thank you for your consideration.

Foxes

Please do not feed the foxes or leave food out for your cats – this encourages vermin
